Service Alert – 29 May 2018

Effects of Auckland’s Cold Snap

The heating systems of some commercial office buildings are not designed to overcome the effects of the unusual ‘cold-snap’ Auckland is experiencing and as a result buildings become very cool as their structures ‘give-up’ heat to the out door air at a rate that exceeds or is close to the heating capacity of the air conditioning system.

Therefore it will not be unusual for the occupants to feel the air conditioning system is not working/coping making them feel ‘too cold’, drafts or ‘temperature all over the place’ and some cases feel the air conditioning is blowing very hot stuffy air.
